About Us

People's Partner for Community Development (PPCD) is a non-profit organization serving the communities of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Southeastern Montana.

In 1999, local community members gave birth to the grassroots organization as a solution to the overwhelming need to develop programs that could help stimulate the local economy on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation.  In 2004, the organization received recognition as a 501(c)(3), charitable non-profit organization.

We are a certified Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). CDFI's are financial institutions that focus on personal lending and business development efforts in local communities. CDFI status is important because we can receive federal funding through the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

We collaborate with the reservation communities to enhance grassroots leadership and provide access to education, tools, and resources in order to assist each of our communities in achieving their community and economic goals.

We accomplish our mission by providing financial literacy training, business training, and one-on-one technical assistance to individuals, entrepreneurs and small business owners.

We promote community owned businesses and serve as a catalyst for entrepreneurial activities. PPCD serves our communities through social enterprise businesses including Courtesy Cash, Inc., Warrior Grocery, Warrior Meat Company, and PIVA Radio Station.

OUR MISSION:

To provide financial opportunities to stimulate economic development on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation by promoting self-sufficiency, self-determination and an enhanced quality of life for the reservation communities.
